he conversion of nuggets of data to worlds of information is a specialty. At Down in the Country Press, we have specialized in the presentation of information, in both print and electronically, since 1972. We spent many years (as Typo/Graphics) providing trade typesetting services to NY publishers, but now serve only the needs of individuals and small private presses. We bring to your presentation challenges a combination of 44 years of professional computing experience and 29 years in the business of type—whether you're headed for print or the Web.
In 1992, we began (as Syllables) to concentrate on support for the small, private press, remaining firm in our conviction to continue to provide highest quality services on a first-name basis. We no longer provide services to large publishing houses.
In 2000, we stepped into accepting titles from independent authors who were unhappy with the large houses providing support to self publishing. Our "hands on" approach, and the full range of services we could provide, allowed many authors to feel more comfortable, to feel that the process of going into print was every bit as much a "craft" as was their smithing of words.
From the most complex data source (often, a novel's manuscript qualifies) to the most easily read—that's what we do. And, we do it well!
As we move into 2012, we are opening this Web site for your use. We are very much under construction. We will soon offer the ability to lay the foundation of getting your book into print.
